 Registering your horse with ATOA helps preserve accurate Paint Horse pedigrees while supporting programs that promote performance, breeding excellence, and education. 

• Horse registration requires a current ATOA membership
  One membership may cover multiple horses
  If you are not yet a member, submit the ATOA Membership Application along with your registration

Provide the following information:

• Horse’s registered name (if applicable)
  Date of birth
  Sex (stallion, mare, gelding)
  Color and Paint pattern (Tobiano, Overo, Tovero, etc.)
  Sire and dam information
  Owner information
• Download the Registration Form On the downloadable forms page

Photos are required to document color and markings accurately.

Please include:

• Left side view
  Right side view
  Front view
  Rear view
  Clear head photo
  Photos must be clear, current, and taken in natural lighting.

• DNA testing may be requested for:
  Pattern verification
  Registry clarification
  Breeding program participation
  Frame Overo testing is strongly recommended for breeding horses

 Send the following together:

• Horse Registration Application
  Membership Application (if needed)
  Photos
  Supporting documentation
  Applicable fees (or note promotional/free registration offers)

• Registrations are reviewed by ATOA staff
  You may be contacted if additional information is needed
  Once approved, you will receive:
  ATOA Registration Certificate
  Membership Card
